My Project

My students rarely get this kind of experience, and we want to be able to produce and share our research the same as any other place would do, if they had this opportunity. We are an inner-city school whose usual look at science is simply reading from a book We get no budget and all they know about science is to read from an out-of-date book and hearing what I can produce from my own research.

Now we have this amazing opportunity to observe the total solar eclipse, gather data, present our findings to NASA, and we want our research to be treated the same way as other professionals would share by placing our posters on an easel for public viewing.

We are also going to give back to the community by doing a presentation there in Ohio where we will be going to experience totality. The posters we make will be on display there as well. We are bringing things for anyone in the community to make while watching the eclipse occur. We are also giving away special glasses, so they safely watch the eclipse. This is an amazing chance for them to give back to the community and learn the art of giving firsthand. Please help us make this happen!

Our goals include teaching students how to observe, gather data, finish a project, and give back to the community some of the things they have learned. They get opportunities to receive, and this is a chance to give back.
