Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a teacher in a low-income, high-poverty school district where I see that my students are faced with many challenges both in and out of the classroom. Somehow, my students do not let the challenges stop them from learning. My students are highly unique individuals with a thirst for learning. I am teaching Science to approximately 90 students. These students love hands-on learning and thrive when given the opportunity to learn this way.

My students are a wonderful group of students primarily of Hispanic descent and most with socioeconomic challenges.

During this pandemic, my students will have to be taught virtually. With your help, we can provide more interactive lessons and teach in a more personal manner with the use of advanced technology.

My Project

As a teacher I'm constantly needing to create anchor charts for my students, to help them refer to and remember the concepts that I teach.

I'm in need of Post-It anchor charts which will allow us to create engaging posters to place around the room.

Students will be in charge of helping make the anchor charts, because this will help give them a sense of ownership of their learning. Chart paper is an essential part of our learning in science class. We need this type of chart paper is so it can be posted throughout the classroom
