My Students

Welcome, and thank you for visiting my project! I am blessed to say that I have 30 students (whom I lovingly call, "my friends") in a self-contained Kindergarten classroom, ages from five to six years old. The school is located in a working class mixed race urban community. The parents of my students work so hard to balance providing financially for their families as well as providing academic support for them.

My students are special for an infinite number of reasons; Most notably, they have the most genuine and kind hearts that I could ever wish for.

They encourage each other when needed, celebrate each others' achievements, show love and compassion when a friend is feeling hurt or sick, and continuously strive to make me, their teacher, happy. I am beyond LUCKY to teach these beautiful minds every day, and because of that, I'm doing all I can to make sure they have everything they deserve to make them succeed.

My Project

In our kindergarten classroom, we create anchor charts and reading/writing lessons daily. My class loves the charts we create together and take so much pride in their learning and creativity. We laminate several of our charts to keep them strong and sturdy throughout the year so we can always go back to reference them during independent learning!

Not only do we use anchor charts during our reading and writing lessons, but we also use them to create routine and math charts!

The markers are used every day in creating bright and fun charts that aide in student engagement and add to the color of our happy classroom. After laminating poems and stories on the anchor chart paper, we use the Post-It tape to highlight interesting words, details, sight words, and many other objectives that we delve into during the literacy block. The crayons and clipboards will be used by students to work with flexible seating and carpet work.

This project will help across all subjects of our school day. There is not a single subject that I do not use anchor chart paper to add to my student's learning and engagement. All materials are needed and will be appreciated fully. Thank you so much for your consideration in helping 30 wonderful kindergarteners and a thankful teacher!
