Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our students come from a diverse background and travel a distance to attend our school. 95% of our students are on free or reduced-price lunch and all receive free breakfast. Our school is not a neighborhood school and students must apply to attend our school. However, we accept all students who meet the minimum requirements which are conduct and attendance in middle school.

We are a wall to wall academy high school with five academies.

The Health Academy students are able to job shadow at neighboring health facilities while attending our school.

Students are able to graduate high school and earn an entry level workplace certificate in a specific field of interest.

My Project

My students need anatomy and drug abuse DVD's , This set of DVD's will ensure that my students have the visual aids needed to make a connection with their anatomy book. They are interesting, appealing and exciting! My students will have gained confidence in their ability to learn anatomy through the ability to watch the DVD's on their own time. Students will be able to watch the DVD's in the classroom whenever the extra time and help is needed.

My students will appreciate the extra learning materials that this Anatomy DVD set will provide.

The DVD's will increase their learning levels and acquire foundation skills through the DVD activities that accompany each title. With this extra help my class will be prepared for their 11th grade health class next year. Students will also feel appreciation and gratitude for the people who donate and make these DVD's possible for us. In turn, when they become successful in their respective health field they may be in a position to donate to others, as they will remember the generosity shown to them through donorschoose.org.
