Anatomy & Physiology - Brought to LIFE!

Help me give my students an adjustable literature organizer, clipboards, highlighters, and more for the opportunity to creatively engage in learning through fun activities!

My Project

Teaching Anatomy and Physiology to high school students is extremely challenging. Every human body exists in three dimensions. So why are we really only able to teach it in two dimensions? Because "real life" specimens are impossible to obtain! The supplies I am requesting for my students can accomplish making this transition from two-dimensional to three. Students will have the opportunity to be assigned their own classroom supplies. Colored pencils for coloring and labeling organs, muscles, and bones; clay to shape the organs and structures and assign them to their corresponding body system; rolls of paper for making life-sized models. A "paper organizer" shelf designed as their own personal hospital room for their patient - not just a "sheet of paper."

These students are our future healthcare providers.

They will be the ones treating and taking care of us one day. Our future healthcare providers need to not only understand the human body but have a deep appreciation and personal investment in their patients! Each one is unique and truly individual!

Donating to my students and my classroom is ensuring that a liver is not just a flat, brown organ in a book or on a PowerPoint - it is alive, fascinating, complex, and vital to each individual patient. Please help me share my enthusiasm for training our future and help give them the resources that will continue to pique their curiosity and compassion well beyond high school and into their healthcare career future for years to come!
