Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school is a little diamond in the rough. It houses students from pre-k to 5th grade. We have almost 900 students from all over the world.

My third grade class consists of students from diverse ethnicities and backgrounds coming from four different continents.

Many of my students this year have learning disabilities including autism. For some of my students, this is the first time they have been in an English-speaking classroom. Needless to say, the learning accommodations are as varied as my students are.

The 21st century requires classrooms equipped to match the challenges facing my students to help prepare them for their future.

My Project

These materials were carefully chosen to welcome back students to school. Some of my students have not been physically in school for over a year, so I would like their first impression of my classroom to be exciting, welcoming and safe.

As the students enter my 3rd grade classroom, their faces will beam with wonder as they gaze into the brightly decorated walls and bulletin boards using the new borders and letters.

They will see different learning centers, including my computer center featuring a brand new docking station for their tablets and laptops. I will use the punch cards daily to incentivize students. All of their hard work will pay off with a visit to the "treasure box" filled with fun neon toys.

Finally, students can concentrate better during test time with the plastic privacy shields.
