Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a special education teacher in a title one school. Most of my students depend on routine and function better with an organized space and less clutter.
Having individual pockets for the students to hang their headphones and keep their chewelry will ensure that they have what they need readily available.
The colored dots on the table help the students know where to go when switching centers. They have been a valuable tool but have worn off and torn so need replaced.
Hall passes hung in a visible space will make it easier to monitor when someone is out of the classroom. With each student having their own chrome book there are so many cords! Power strips will ensure that the cords are maintained and out of the way for the students safety.
As a special education teacher I spend a lot of time writing IEP's. A chair cushion will help to prevent the soreness in my hips and back. With so many kids in and out of the classroom in is important to ensure that the air stays clean. I have severe allergies and am very affected by the numerous scents. We have one air purifier but need a smaller one next to my desk to fully purify the large space. The apron will help me keep all necessary tools right by me, maximizing teaching time and modeling organizational skills for my students.
