This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach Kindergarten ICT in a Title I school in Brooklyn, New York. ICT is an Integrated Co-Teaching class that has students with and without Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) learning together. My class consists of a combination of general education students and special education students who have IEPs. The needs of my students vary, however I am working on enhancing my classroom's organization, creativity, and managing classroom behaviors.

Having a Cricut Joy in our classroom can serve many purposes in our classroom.

The Cricut Joy can be used to label shelves, sections of our classrooms, student materials, tables, chairs etc. In addition the cricut can be utilized to make stickers, coloring pages, and incentives that can be used to manage student behavior in our ICT classroom. Lastly, the Cricut can provide a creative outlet for our students both general education and special education. "In addition to providing a self-esteem boost, art helps children with learning differences, such as dyslexia, ADHD, and sensory disorders, communicate more effectively and express thoughts and feelings in a way that makes sense to them." The Cricut Joy will help create materials, resources, and projects for our classroom and assist with cutting classroom handouts.
