Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have twenty amazing 3rd grade students that show up to class eager to learn, despite the challenges they are faced with both in and out of the classroom. Our school is a low-income Title I that offers free breakfast and lunch to all children. My students have a wide variety of learning styles and levels, all of which deserve the best education possible. Every student in my classroom is unique and everyone in the room respects each other. I care about my students and they know it!

My goal as a bilingual teacher is to encourage my students to love learning and to develop lifelong independent learners.

I especially love that my students try their best on everything that comes their way. They love to read and enjoy hands-on activities. They are great helpers and I know I can count on them. Every day​, I make sure to instill good qualities that will make them amazing citizens. I want my students to remember me when they grow up, so I make them feel welcome, safe, and important on a daily basis!

My Project

All students deserve an education filled with the latest things to enhance their learning. Students are now known as digital natives and having a second iPad will help them create more authentic learning experiences in the classroom, as well as build twenty-first-century skills that or children need to be successful. This is a special need for my students and will be used for educational apps, reading, writing, math, science, and so much more. We currently have one iPad and I would like to have at least one per group of four students.

In addition, my students lack access to technology, which is important to be successful in a quickly evolving technical world.

My goal is to have all of my students get comfortable using an iPad for educational purposes. More than half of my class doesn't have access to one, nor internet access at home. This will be a great opportunity to explore and learn on the same level students who have this access. Our classroom will be forever changed with another iPad in the picture!
