This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our public high school is in the heart of Brooklyn, NY, and all of our students are recent immigrants to the U.S., hailing from South Asia, Central America, West Africa, and East Asia, and other corners of the world. They represent a variety of different educational backgrounds, native languages, religions, cultures, and world views. What brings them together is a common eagerness to be at home in this country.

The majority of our students are from low-income families and many of their parents have lost their source of income during the COVID-19 shutdown.

This makes it especially difficult for our students to be prepared to start college in the fall. On top of economic stress, our seniors are battling isolation and the uncertainty of what comes next for them. With COVID-19 keeping us apart from each other, we need to support our students more than ever.

My Project

The days of spiral notebooks and handwritten lecture notes are quickly slipping away. Now to be successful in college means having portable tech that can help you organize notes, essays, images, audio files, and more.

With this project, you will be funding an iPad Pro and accessories like a stylus pen, case, and keyboard for a very deserving student.

Student M. is a talented, dedicated learner who will be very successful in college and her future career. Please help give her a big boost by donating toward the technology she needs for college.
