My Project

EAST is education accelerated by service and technology. We inspire change. We transform schools and communities by empowering people with technology, by encouraging critical thinking and creative problem-solving, and by engaging them in positive, real-world experiences. We advocate lifelong learning and community service. Through EAST, participants become positive agents of change to improve the world around them.

My students think and work best when they have the opportunity to be out of a regular school desk and have options of where to sit.

My students have the option of choosing their projects and how to complete them, so why not provide them with a wide variety of furniture and workspaces, to put students at the center of learning, and to allow them to make choices based on their preferences and the objectives of the task at hand.

Flexible seating allows students to wobble, rock, bounce, lean or stand, which increases oxygen flow to the brain, blood flow and core strength. In turn, this burns more calories and increases metabolism. It also helps keep young minds more alert and focused, which would be very important in helping their decision making when solving problems in our community.
