My Project

My students are some of the highest performing in the state, but have not experienced a quality music curriculum for a few years now. Almost all of my students are children of color and have always wanted to be in a music class where they can create, explore, and experiment. I am a new teacher aiming to modernize and diversify the standard music education curriculum. This year, we are going to be making music videos, experimenting with songwriting, analyzing video game and movie soundtracks, and even accompanying one another while reading or performing. An important part of making sure I can make these units engaging, informative, and even possible, is having instruments to incorporate into our class. Anything that can be donated will be nothing but appreciated and will impact the quality of my students' musical experiences this year.
