Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our students have to overcome significant challenges on a daily basis that students without disabilities might take for granted. For example, students benefits of using visuals, flow-charts, and labels provide them with an added resource when performing rudimentary routines including but not limited to:

- grasping and manipulating tools and resources

- step-by-step instructions (i.e., flow charts, steppers, etc.)

- performing basic hygiene, dressing, communicating, and/or maintenance routines

Our class is considered a self-contained high school classroom that provides essential instructional support and care for students with multiple disabilities. Nevertheless, students are eager to learn and use the available resources to facilitate the teaching and learning process.
