My Students

Hello,

My students range in age from 14-18 and all have moderate to severe special needs.

Student needs range from orthopedic, intellectual disabilities, speech/communication, behavioral and many other special needs. The students I work with in particular, have many different sensory input needs. My students are loving, communicative, every day learners. These great kids, however, have a very difficult time showing others how they feel and what they are thinking. Every day is a challenge, that is why it is so important to make every day and every opportunity count!

My Project

Headphones are my helpers! My students students with special needs are often over stimulated by all of the lights and sounds in their environment that they are learning to filter out. By providing headphones for their computer work environment, we are reducing some of the unwanted sensory input and are able to help the students focus more on the assignments at hand. Our students with special needs learn tremendous amounts of skills utilizing the computer programs we are able to provide for them through curriculum experiences as well as reward times. Thank you very much for your support! We really appreciate it!
