My students need a writing center to help them become good authors with a love of literacy!

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a second year teacher in a Title 1 school. This school is in a very low income area, and many of my students come from a troubled home situation.
I want more than anything for them to be exposed to a wide variety of supplies and curriculum so that they can achieve their full potential. Literacy is essential!
This writing center would benefit my class in a dramatic way. I have a wide variety of students in my inclusion room, some have special needs and some do not speak much English. Literacy is a huge part of our day, and this area would be a wonderful way to get them organized and engaged in the writing process.
A generous donation for this proposal would make all the difference for my classroom and my students. It is my sincere desire to have each student publishing thier own story, hopefully several, each 9 weeks. A big task for kindergartners, but with your help and mine they will rise to the occasion! Thank you for considering this proposal.
