Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My school is a Title I school where 100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. Our school population is majority Latino, but we do service African American, Caucasian, Muslim and Chinese families. Students come into the classroom every day ready to learn, and for many of my students, I am their gateway to an academically enriched environment.

My prekindergarten students are young explorers and demand to be challenged and engaged at all times, my classroom is an adventure every day.

My Project

Lessons with my remote explores has been very hard to manage with a Mac book that I'm unsure of when its going to allow a share screen or even connect to zoom. A new Mac book would allow for me to enter my lessons with confidence that it wont crash in the middle of an interactive lesson and with the ability to easily record and edit lessons. This Mac book will also give me the opportunity to continue to connect with my families throughout the summer.

This Mac Book is my only way to communicate visually with all of my students and families at one time.

Which is extremely important for Prekindergarten due to the lack of socialization since this pandemic began. Technology is the forefront of education, and it will continue to be that way moving forward, and I need to be ready to give my students the best experience I can through the means of technology.
