Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Almost 99% of our students are considered At Risk students and most come from families that live well below the poverty level. Their neighborhoods are yards from the Mexico Border and the Border Wall is visible on the horizon. Despite their daily struggles, these students are eager to learn and walk into our school daily with smiles and enthusiasm.

Their safe, happy place is our school where they learn confidence, how to express themselves and receive free breakfast, lunch, and dinner due to their socioeconomic status.

My hope is to create lifelong learners who feel they can accomplish anything.

My Project

My classroom has begun the transition into a Digital Classroom this year. My students currently have 1-1 iPads and they are using them daily across all subjects. I have purchased numerous stylus for each student and they are just not suitable for the everyday writing that is taking place on their iPads. Apple Pencils write just like regular pencils and I know my students would take their digital learning to the next level if they were to receive Apple Pencils.

The Apple Pencils would be used daily for Math, Science, Writing and even for Art.
