My first grade classroom is a place for students of all backgrounds to come, learn, and grow. In the year to come, students will have a chance to explore all areas of life. Students will learn about what it looks like to be a good citizen, dive into addition and subtraction and how we use them in day to day life, and how technology can be used as a tool to help us better understand the world around us.
Each student in our class is unique and special in their own way and as a class, we strive to support one another in these diverse needs through the use of technology.
My students are directly impacted by the world around them and as an educator, I aspire to create a place for these students to become life long learners. Each one of them has passions, dreams, and aspirations they hope to one day achieve. As their teacher, I love to encourage, guide and help them as they continue to grow. Having current technology will allow us to better accomplish these goals.
My Project
Our goal this year in first grade is to help learners go from reading simple words ot reading chapter books by the end of the year. Needless to say, this is a rigorous process that requires students to read consistently at different levels.
iPads allow the students to access programs that will help them in achieving and excelling in their reading goals.
The programs meet students where they are and allow for a wide range of levels and learners to access the materials they need in order to succeed. Students can use this iPad daily to work on a variety of skills in the areas of math, language arts, and many others.
