This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are a group of diverse learners who come from a low-income/high poverty school district in Queens, NY. However, they are one of the most hardest working and inspiring human beings I know. Despite the many challenges they face outside of school, they are always ready to learn and give their best. They are a very inquisitive group of students who are motivated by art and computer-related activities. My students are always excited to learn, and even on their most challenging days they manage to put on a smile and do their best.

My Project

This year has been one of the most difficult and heart breaking years many of us have experienced. In school, it has been no different. Things took a dramatic turn when the COVID-19 pandemic started. Schools closed and many of us were not ready or equipped to teach remotely in the middle of a pandemic. As an educator it is important for me to provide my students with activities and lessons that are engaging, inspiring, and give them opportunities for applying their knowledge.

With a new iPad Pro, I will be able to get to my students and create engaging lessons to both, hybrid and remote learners.

The iPad pro will serve as a tool for me to reach my students and deepen their connections. During our meetings I will use it to write and model instructions as well as mimic the use of a smart board, in class. In order for me to achieve these goals, I must be equipped with the proper technology. When my students are waiting for me to teach, I must be ready to provide my full support during the distance learning. Please help me help my students during this uncertain and difficult times!
