My Students

Our class of 25 second-grade students is filled with support and respect. Morning meetings and closing activities, allow the students to connect and create a home away from home with one another. Their collaborative nature and care for one another enables them to find joy in celebrating when someone takes a risk in learning and the successes one another achieves.

They are thoughtful, creative, and enthusiastic.

They immerse themselves in challenging work and persevere. They work hard to grow their brains and push each others' thinking. The students love working in pairs and small groups. Their inquisitive minds politely challenge each others' thinking and delve deeper to strengthen their understanding. There is a quiet buzz of learning that permeates our room.

My Project

As our school moves to a hybrid model, I will have half my students in-person and half attending virtually. Having a MacBook Pro enables me to interact with all my students. I currently have a Chromebook that only costs a few hundred dollars. I do many things with my computer, where I feel very limited with this device.

With a MacBook Pro, I can sync all my classroom music that I play for transitions, have the memory needed to save documents and files that I use one year after another, and have a reliable device to use for lessons I have created on PowerPoint or Google Slides.

The options are limitless with a MacBook Pro. Even after all the students return to class, I know I will use this to teach throughout the day to enhance the students' learning experience.
