My Project

I am a special education teacher supporting children with disabilities like Autism, ADHD, and other reading disabilities. My students needs specialized instruction to meet their goals. I also collaborate with Speech and Language Therapists and Occupational Therapist to provide services to help my students access the general education curriculum. To meet the students goals, we often use technology; however, the current Chromebooks do not support the fine motor practice and academic engagement that my students need to be successful.

The touchscreen of the iPads will enhance my students learning experience and provide increased access to a variety of developmentally appropriate learning applications and programs.

One of my goals is to infuse science instruction in all that I do because I am preparing the next generation to care about our planet earth. With this iPad, I plan to use Epic to have students study about ecosystems and environments. The iPad will increase the accessibility of these texts so that all of my students have equitable access to learning opportunities.
