it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
My students ages range from 3-5 years old. They are curious and active and share the disability of deaf and hard of hearing. They all reside in Bakersfield and come from a variety of socioeconomic backgrounds. I use a FM system to bring sound thru their hearing devices in close range to amplify oral instruction. This system allows them to hear the speaker, but they need to learn to discriminate sounds. They come from hearing homes and it is my responsibility to bridge the gap from the hearing world to the deaf world.
My deaf and hard of hearing students benefit and thrive from instruction incorporating variety of learning modalities.
My students will engage with toys they can manipulate during dramatic play instruction.
My Project
With the dress up materials I will be able to enhance my dramatic play centers to be aligned with the preschool foundations. In the math center I will support their needs with the large, colorful textured beads. We will also use the beads to support pattern making. The social/emotional play and the play families will support interpersonal relationships and community connections.
The sensory centers will be a place where my deaf and hard of hearing students can enjoy the tactile experience of dramatic play.
The containers will be used to store all the sensory manipulatives neatly. My dramatic play centers will now be connected with a sensory thread.
