Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As a music educator, I strive to create an engaging and hands-on learning experience for my students.

With the help of these materials, we can explore new ways of understanding music that go beyond traditional methods.

Voice Amplifier: This will allow me to save my voice while providing clear instructions. Music teachers sing a lot! It ensures that all students can hear me, improving participation and focus.

Otamatone for Note Exploration: The otamatone offers a fun and interactive way for students to explore pitch and melody. It is a 3-octave synthesizer that fits in your hands.

Plastic cups: A lot of our current cups are broken. I would like to replace our cups with a more durable option. These will be used for cup routines which help with rhythms, beat, and teamwork.

Dry Erase Markers: My other thin markers already ran out, so I would love to get them replaced by markers that will hopefully last longer. This is to have students write their answers on dry-erase boards for full class assessments, or complete their work on dry-erase sheets.

Power Strip: I have a class set of iPads now for students to use Quaver Music, but no charging station. This will be very helpful in making sure they are charged.

EGBDF the Musical Yak: I read this story for the first time last year and students loved it! I would love to add it to my classroom library.
