My Students

My 12 to 13-year-old scholars from Opa Locka, FL have hearts of gold and ambitions aplenty. They will be the change that this world so desperately craves. My students hope to become doctors, astronauts, cosmetologists, and more.

They are curious and in want of knowledge, wisdom, and a chance to express their true selves.

I hope that their time in my classroom and presence can position them on a trajectory towards that aim.

My Project

All students deserve a quality education. Unfortunately, access and opportunities to do so are not consistent across our nation.

While many factors contribute to that quality, my project underscores the need for ample, quality learning supplies and tools to enhance the learning environment.

While the supplies I am asking for in this project do not cover every need, this list is a great start! There is still much work to be done. Consider donating to this project, and play a role in taking steps toward closing the ever-growing learning gap.

Some of the items I am requesting will be given to students directly to enhance their learning (e.g. grammar posters), to enhance their work presentation (e.g. report covers), and to incite their love of reading (e.g. bookmarks). Other items (e.g. tiered shelves) will be used to enhance the classroom look and feel and to house additional books and resources for students.
