This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My 5th graders will dive into an in depth study on Among the Hidden. We will explore themes such as friendship, freedom and courage. We will will read the novel together in class and have discussions.

Novel studies encourage students to explore various book genres which in turn promotes reading!

Reading novels is a wonderful way to build a love for reading!

Developing a repertoire of ways to think about or understand ideas and contexts helps us to learn new things. Novel studies are a way to learn and apply strategies to comprehend, to see things differently or understand others with differing, even opposing viewpoints.
