My Project

Many times our students respond better to suggestions when it comes from someone else. We now have high school mentors/ambassadors that visit our elementary school students to work with them on academics, social skills, and sometimes just to talk to them. When these mentors show up, we need them to be ready to work and not feel shy or hesitant to go into the classrooms and provide much needed guidance for our younger students.

When the mentors are at our school, they need to be mentally prepared and ready to walk into the classrooms with confidence.

I want to help our high school mentors/ambassadors move past their fears and put their knowledge and experiences to great use. I am creating a snack station where each mentor can visit before they enter the room. This will help them feel prepared and handle the task at hand. The snacks will be the boost of confidence they each need to encourage our younger students to keep learning and being their best self.
