This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Amazing violinists play each year at my school and they are from my class. What an unbelievable sight to see these young children playing so beautifully, so I need your help to keep the music playing. We have violins sitting on shelves waiting to be fixed, so they can be played by my students.

I am a kindergarten teacher in New York and the school consists of many low-income families, ELL students and students with special needs.

There are little resources and ways to get the things that we need to help benefit the students. There are few opportunities for music due to so many budget cuts. Even though we are fortunate enough to have a violin program, we need help to keep the program running.

My Project

The violins are in need of repair so they can reach the hands of my students. The opportunity to learn how to play an instrument is rare and if the violins are fixed with new strings and shoulder rests, it will enable more of my students to participate in this unbelievable program.

Your help will give my students an amazing opportunity to enter the world of music, through learning to play the violin.

They will learn discipline and a sense of self accomplishment. They will also learn how to focus on a task, which carries over into academic subject areas. This creates better learners. This experience will set them on a road to becoming productive and successful individuals.
