Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am the school counselor of a school where the majority of my students are from the Latinx or Native American community. It is my duty to make sure I consistently feature authors and characters that culturally represent my student population.

Children deserve to see themselves as the hero of a story, and literature is a magical way to introduce new topics and skills to build social and emotional development.

Help build my classroom library with new books that feature black and brown authors and main characters because representation matters!

These new books will be available to students to read and explore during their free time, and will be incorporated into classroom counseling lessons.
