My Students

My Kindergartners love reading and talking about what they read. We love the classics and newer books especially when they connect our language arts goals to science and social studies.

My school is a Chicago Public School serving gifted students from all over the city!

They come with different experiences and from very different backgrounds. Books are a perfect way to connect to something familiar and share that with a friend. My Kindergartners love a great story and many of them haven't heard some of the great classic children's stories!

My Project

My students need new and classic books to integrate language arts with science and social studies. We will use these books during interactive read-alouds, in small groups and to inspire our writing. We are excited by great stories and think about the characters we get to know all the time! We make connections to other texts, to ourselves and to the world.

These books will improve our classroom library!

They'll be enjoyed this year and for years to come. A donation to this collection will change many Kindergartners' lives and provide a memorable introduction to their time at our school.
