My Project

What more can be said, kids LOVE playing instruments. You just can't beat the tactile sensation of manipulating an instrument to make the sound you are controlling. Whether you are shaking a maraca, thumping on a drum, or drawing out beautiful melodies from xylophones and metallophones, student engagement is exponentially better when students are able to take charge of the music making process themselves. However, this comes with obvious financial difficulties - quality instruments with beautiful timbres are expensive, and music programs often don't receive a local school budget to supplement instrument purchases.

Your support will help give my students meaningful and memorable experiences in the music classroom.

Countless decades of research in early childhood development and education has proven time and time again that the benefits to substantive music education offerings are innumerable - test scores are increased, student morale and ownership is heightened, community engagement is grown, and children grow up to be productive, empathetic, and culturally sensitive members of society.
