My Project

Each year I try to add a bit more flexible seating to reflect their growing bodies and their multi-sensory needs. This allows seating options in the classroom to have the greatest impact on their social, emotional, and academic experiences.

Teaching students with special needs, I can also attest to traditional desk seating being limiting, stifling, and rigid for many children.

This bar set and high table allows children to stand while learning, as well as dangle legs down below to get the sensory input many students benefit from. When I asked them about having new seating options, the "high table" option was the most requested by far. I am so excited to bring this to my students this year. My students are hard-working children who joyfully and responsibly, used the flexible seating they received from Donor's Choose last year. It most definitely helped them learn each day. They are moving onto 3rd and 4th grade with me this year and will be psyched to see new additional seating arrive!
