This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I work at an alternative high school and we see the potential in these amazing kids. Many have dropped out at their previous schools, but they were able to come to us and we help them to get caught up. We don't get to do most of the typical high school things, so some these supplies will allow the leadership class I teach make decorations for Prom. This is a big deal for these kids. In our leadership class, I am preparing them for the real word. We learn many great skills and we work hard to foster a positive, safe environment.
