Help Mr. Webster

Energy is the linchpin to the future of human survival and prosperity, yet students are frequently left to learn this as a matter of emergencies within their community. We need a proactive approach to teaching children and our future leaders about the specifics of our energy needs. While environmental issues are coincidental with this issue, the focus of this proposal is for students to become familiar with the physics of energy and the potential for expanding our ability to generate more energy with greater efficiency for our current and future needs in a manner that will benefit the global community. Critical emphasis would also be placed on the economics and characteristics of energy so that students can learn to make incisive choices about energy production and consumption that fits a growing and vastly developing world community. In this study we will be greatly served by using the Solar Physics Workshops in cooperative learning groups. Setting our students up as corporations and using these materials, they will design and market alternative energies after extensive research into the viability of the many energy choices available through practical applications of physics. They will conclude their projects with proposals and presentations to the school for implementing energy efficient, physics based, alternative measures for supplying and using energy in our school.
