My Students

I am very excited to meet my new students for the upcoming 2021-2022 school year! I know that they will be just as excited for the first day of school as I am.

I can tell you that the students here love to learn (times 10), and deserve to have quality instruction and a safe place to learn.

I can not wait to discover each personality in my class-this is my favorite part of teaching! Each unique personality comes out when students feel comfortable, safe, and well-prepared. There's nothing like feeling supported and taken care of! And getting solid instruction and communication from their teacher is how it happens!

My Project

Last year I started the Schoolhouse Strummers- a club for 2nd-5th graders. This club taught about the ukulele, as well as how to play the ukulele. In a normal school day, I might play music while my students work independently, or I may come up with a jingle about a topic we are diving into. This has always caused much interest in the instrument from my students, and I thought, "Why not teach them?" The club last year was a success, but I noticed that ukuleles might not be something easily ready for families to buy for the club.

These ukuleles and ukulele cases will allow students who may not normally be introduced to this instrument, a hands-on class club experience and skill to last a lifetime.

With this donation, students would be able to loan out a ukulele and case for the yearly duration of the Schoolhouse Strummers ukulele club.

Please consider donating to the Schoolhouse Strummers club. As we know, learning an instrument can kickstart mind growth in other areas.

I hope this year will be a great one for the Schoolhouse Strummers, and I do not want children to turn away from learning something new just because they can not purchase a ukulele for the club.
