My favorite quote, by Camille Pissarro, states "Blessed are they who see beautiful things in humble places where others see nothing." I believe my challenge is to open the eyes of unsuspecting young artists, to their ability to create beautiful things, where they may not have thought possible. I have wonderfully amazing students who, after spending two, three, and four years under my instruction, become family. They are strong, courageous, full of energy, and eager to create.
My Project
During a time of economic uncertainty, I hope to provide my students with quality materials to continue creating, whether in the classroom or at home. These professional-grade paintbrushes will give students something to call their own, while also teaching them proper care and responsibility of fine art materials.
Supplying my students with their own personal set of brushes will give them the freedom to create art at home, should the need arise to return to remote learning.
Although my district is currently continuing the school year with face-to-face instruction, we know this could all change at any time. I hope to prepare my students for any possibility, while also encouraging them to embrace their creative spirit!
