Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This year, I will be teaching 1st grade! I am excited to change grade levels, but that also means I will need new supplies for the school year! Some of my students are refugee students who are new to the country, so having these items will be especially important in helping them master the English language.

The first item on my project is for dry erasers for boards and tables.

The erases allow them to erase their thinking with ease. I also have dry erase contact paper listed on this project so students can demonstrate their understanding in groups. I use the contact paper to put on the tops of student tables so they can practice their skills at their seats as well. My project is also seeking file folders to organize classroom materials throughout the year. We will be using materials often that are laminated, so students will be able to access these materials in the file folders. The next item on my list is for labels for my label maker. The labels will be used to label where supplies need to go in the classroom, and give our classroom a sense of organization throughout the school day. The last item on my list is a small globe. We will be going over continents, oceans, and physical features on a map and globe, so this item will be used to meet that social studies standard.
