Hello, I am writing to you from a wonderful school in East Williamsburg, Brooklyn. I teach an eager, energetic class of third-graders who are bursting at the seams with potential and possibility. We are lucky to have a learning environment and curriculum that has been carefully crafted by both faculty and administration to meet student needs. If it weren't for our lack of funds, you'd think we were working in a fancy private school! But the sad fact is, we aren't. And sadder still is the fact that the lack of money means limited resources. Thank goodness for the DonorsChoose community, and for the numerous ways they have responded to students' academic needs. I am reaching out again because I sorely need a classroom printer for my students. We do so much writing, and for them to never get their hands on a tangible result of that writing is unfair and unnecessary. We write poetry, letters, books, songs, recipes, and even classroom rules on the computer. Imagine how improved their experience with technology would become if their creativity and effort could be unleashed from the hard-drive and treasured forever in their hands. Before this year, we had a weekly computer class, where we went to lab and they were able to print. Now, due to budget cuts and scheduling problems, I am not able take my kids to computer anymore. Please help me rectify this problem! My students and I would greatly appreciate such a generous measure. Thanks again!
