Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The materials that I am requesting for my students already have a place in my classroom and a job to support my special needs students. The television, with the bracket, will be hung on the wall to assist the students with online classes. I will be able to stream the lesson on the TV so we can go through the them, as a group, working through any struggles together. This will also help with engagement. The TV will also be used to show the evaluation and IEP documents, during a meeting, saving paper. The majority of our students can't afford simple school supplies, so the notebooks will ensure each student has one for their notes. The projector's job will be to stream webinars, movies, etc. to help with literature and transition planning for life after high school. This helps meet many different learning styles. The TV and projector will also be very valuable when providing professional development to other teachers. The fidgets and stabilizer chair will help with student anxiety. These tools allow the student different strategies to calm themselves and continue on with classes.

The donations to this project will help to improve my students' self esteem and the ability to see themselves as valuable members of society.

By hitting many different learning styles, with these materials, my students will begin to have faith in themselves and see themselves as productive members of society. We will use these materials to aide us in the process of becoming life-long learners, while coping with stressors and anxiety. As a special education teacher, I have seen the results that different teaching techniques and new comping strategies can have on the self-esteem of students. Yet I truly need your support to make this a reality. Thanks!
