This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As a special education teacher, I work with students daily who require a little more assistance in accessing the curriculum and maximizing their chances at success. Part of my work is conducting assessments, analyzing data from those assessments, and writing individualized educational plans (IEPs) that are designed to provide accommodations and modifications to the curriculum and allow the student to access the curriculum better and meet their goals for high school graduation and post-secondary education and careers.

Much of my work in writing these plans is done at home outside of school hours.

My current computer that I use at home is getting old and starting to slow down, making the time that I spend at home become more and more. A new computer will make the work that I do at home more efficient, allowing me to better utilize my time in writing plans for my deserving students.
