Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our students are inquisitive, bright, and enthusiastic learners. They are interested in learning and staying engaged during lessons in their class. Despite the fact that they've been learning remotely due to the pandemic, now they are eager to come back to see their friends, meet their new teachers and to learn . On August 16 students will return to campus.

Unfortunately many families are experiencing unemployment, evictions, COVID-19, and loss of loved ones.

Many students of our community live in small apartments or homes where they live with several families due to the high cost of living. Some families can't afford to buy basic school supplies or clothes for their children.

My Project

Showing up dressed up on the first day of school is important to our students and their parents. Student will use toothbrushes, toothpaste and floss to take care of their teeth and to show off big smiles. Our school has a dress code that encourages students from Pre-k to 8th grade to wear red, white or blue polo shirts. For some of our families getting their children what they need for the school year is a financial burden. I can picture students coming to school happy and proud because they will have new polo shirts and looking so sharp!
