The students at my school are eager kids who want to show the world their music abilities. They come to music class ready to dance, sing, and learn whatever musical element I want them to know.
My students love music and love to share with me their favorite experiences in music.
I want to offer a music room where the students won't need to worry about not having what they need to learn.
I teach at a school where many of the children receive free breakfast and free lunch. There are many students at my school who receive backpacks of food to take home over the weekend, and we also have a food pantry at our school to benefit our families once a month. Even with all the challenges that the students experience, the students come to music class eager to learn!
My Project
The books that I have choosen to be added to my music room are to help create a culture of inclusivness and kindness. Students are seeing and hearing about injustice in our society right now and I want to have books in my classroom that can help us navigate these issues. I also want to spread kindness.
The music room is a place where all students can feel safe and belong, I believe that adding these books to my classroom will help give us reference to issues that students are seeing, hearing and experiencing.
I chose books on racial equality, kindness and activism.
