Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Remember those days sitting in your class working on your math problems and just not getting the answers right. My 1st grade class is filled with students who have great abilities but struggle to understand the math concepts on grade level.

My students are bright, full of energy, and love to use tools to help them learn.

They attend a Title 1 School in East New York, Brooklyn, and all qualify for free breakfast and lunch. Students in the class all have a love for learning but want to have fun, too.

My Project

Students will use the Write and Wipe boards to show their answers and self correct with peers and teacher. Students will use the Magnetic Bast Ten Set to show their understanding of place value. Students will enhance their technological grasp on numbers through the use of the Osmo Math Game for the Osmo Gaming System already in place.

Students will be able to be successful in Mathematics through the use of hands on tools and technology.

These tools will support instruction and understanding of math. Students will have a different entry point to learn math.
