Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We have the most creative, respectful, loving, fun and diverse group of 1st graders. They LOVE Science. Sadly, because of the pandemic they were not able to do the fun projects in the beginning of the year. Ever since we have been back in “in person learning “ it has been my mission for them to have fun in science. My pocket has suffered but seeing their faces after each activity and learning it has been worth it. So, to continue I’m in need of thermometers, rain gage, rulers, wind sock, paint, cotton balls, popsicles sticks, crayons, pencils, notebooks, stickers, scissors, play-dough, colored pencils and markers... to continue projects about the different kinds of weather, severe weather, types of cloud and temperature.

My Project

All students learn differently and have multiple intelligence. Not only they will learn about the weather, but they will also have the opportunity of creating a model of it and enhance their learning in the process. This will also create an opportunity for each student to learn the same concept and have lots of fun in the process. It will be an experience they will cherish and remember for the rest of their lives. Maybe I have encouraged students to be a scientist and become meteorologist in the future. As a teacher, I can only hope!
