This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My school is located in Stone Mountain, GA. Most of our students are from nearby motels where they provide shelters for homeless families. I service students with special needs in an interrelated setting. My students are struggling to read, write, do math, and socialize with peers. They need direct individualized instruction to practice remedial skills. They love to complete their assignments if it is broken down into simple steps with visuals and hands on materials.
My special need students need simplified online lessons with lots of visuals to get them in focus.
Technology plays a vital role in this generation and my students will be proud to go home and tell their parents with confidence what they learned in class.
My students are struggling to catch up with their peers in all content areas. Their motivation level drops so much. They need to be encouraged and bring motivation in their learning.
The materials in this project will help my students to bring out their special areas of interest and motivates them to learn.
For this, I am requesting online learning program software to use in my class. The Brainzy math and reading program will help my students to understand and learn the math and reading skills through visuals with animation. This enables them to connect and apply the learned concepts in their everyday life. The failure free reading online will be used in my class for remedial reading and progress monitoring to adjust the reading level. This program also helps them to master the IEP goals and bridge the gap in their learning curve.
We as a special needs class appreciate your support in helping our classroom to focus on learning and reduce all the frustrations they face when learning.
