Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As I begin to think about the final Trimester of 6th grade for my amazing 6th-grade students, something I would like to bring to the classroom is having them watch a ladybug's life cycle and see ants in action.

This year we have had the privilege to learn about animals native to Africa, mosquitos and how to prevent them from laying eggs at our homes, and salmon that can be found in our local watershed.

For Open House I would like to have ladybugs and an ant farm in my room for my students to teach their families about. Students will learn about these creatures' entire life cycle and make predictions of what they think will happen along the way.

I have also added a few high-interest books for us to include in our classroom library and some mechanical pencils and dry eraser markers to help us make it through the end of the school year.
