My Project

Our students work so hard studying so many subjects. They come to class, do their work and when they throw a paper airplane in class, suddenly they're in trouble!

This project will let students build various types of paper airplane crafts and practice flying them.

By trying different things, they will observe and learn what works best. We will discuss the physics principles of airplane flight and why some designs work better than others.

Students will have a lot of fun learning to build with their hands. There is literally an art and a science to folding paper to make an airplane that can fly. These books will guide them in their creation. We'll spend some time in the sunshine throwing planes they build and challenging each other to better designs. What are weight, dra,g and thrust? How can we modify our design to change these factors to achieve better performance?
