My Project

In our class we do lots of projects about climate change. We are learning how increasing global average temperature is causing climates to change around the planet, and while students are learning about these topics, my students are sweating in a sweltering classroom. Particularly during the summer months, temperatures can reach upwards of 90s, and body heat can exacerbate that temperature even higher.

Numerous studies show that productivity drops by about 25% when people work in temperatures around 90 degrees.

And if those temperatures reach the hundreds, productivity drops nearly 70%. Obviously, these are hardly conditions in which students can effectively learn.
