I teach an amazing group of diverse third grade students. The variety of cultural backgrounds, learning profiles, and learning needs definitely adds a special spice to our classroom.
Despite the various challenges they might face, each of my third graders makes the daily choice to be a 'Bubble Gum Brain' (inspired by Julia Cook's book of the same title); a student who chooses to focus on the importance of growth and the power of yet.
My students arrive to school every day hungry to learn and eager to shine! It's my hope to get some amazing resources to feed that hunger.
My Project
Student's work best when they are given choices in the classroom. It is also proven that movement can increase the brain's ability to establish deeper connections to learning and improves retrieval.
My goal is to increase student autonomy and encourage deeper learning connections with the use of flexible seating in our classroom.
My students love to move and they love options! The balance balls and wobble chairs are great tools to accommodate movement while still encouraging focus. The seating set will be great for creating cozy spots for independent learning!
