I teach in a low socioeconomic school. We are a completely bused school and therefore it is hard to hold after school programs. For the first time, we are holding an after school sports program for girls. We have been fortunate enough to be accepted to partake in the C.H.A.M.P.S. programs. Girls are not really exposed to this sport, prior to high school. This program is a great opportunity for girls to partake in, to learn a new sport, learn how to stay fit, and give them an opportunity to partake in a new activity when they get to high school. It could even have the opportunity to lead to scholarships for some.

Unfortunately, we do not have the equipment to play volleyball. We have 1 ball, which is from Old Navy. It is hard to run a real or even decent practice due to this. Drills take a long time and after awhile, the girls begin to lose focus.

With 10 volleyballs, we will be able to run our program as it should be run. Girls will be able to practice with each other and we will be able to run through drills with the girls staying focused.

Your donation will greatly help the after school program, and will be used in years to come. The girls in my school have showed a great interest and I hope to keep that interest going due to your donation.
