Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Students at our schools love to come to the library and participate in games, coloring, reading, and socializing over books. I would love to have them spend time after school doing art and socializing in a relaxed environment, surrounded by books. The supplies would allow me to host monthly art activities so that students can learn how to make friendship bracelets, puppets, and other crafts.

Providing students with activities after school in the library will have them feel safe and comfortable in the library and hopefully encourage them to visit the library more often.

This, in turn, would increase their literacy and help them become better acquainted with our library resources.
